The Spring/Summer 2010 campaign was shot in Brooklyn on Nov. 6 by celebrated fashion photographer Steven Klein, and we can't wait to see it!
Madonna is the latest in a line of big-name beauties to work for D&G: In the past 11 months, the always extravagant duo has enlisted Scarlett Johansson as the face of their new cosmetics line and featured supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Eva Herzigova in ads for the recently launched D&G Fragrance Anthology.
Since introducing their label in 1985, the pair has made a name championing pretty and provocative looks, which explains their lasting love of the Material Girl.
As revealed by Stefano Gabbana on Swide, the relationship began in 1990 when Madonna wore Dolce & Gabbana to a number of international events, prompting the designers to ask for a meeting.
This led to an ongoing mutual admiration -- not to mention to the commissioning of 1,500 costumes for the singer's 1993 "The Girlie Show" tour and more recently, her "Sticky and Sweet" wardrobe.
Apart from sharing a signature sexuality, Madonna's Italian heritage makes her an all-the-more-appropriate choice for the ads, which features the designers' renowned Sicilian-inspired corsets, ruffles and peek-a-boo lace contrasted by traditionally tailored suiting.
No word on whether Madge will still work for Louis Vuitton, where for the last two seasons she starred in the ad campaigns directed by designer/pal Marc Jacobs, but we're guessing we probably won't see her there.
Then again, she's been known to break with tradition before..
