Dominick "Dom" DeLuise August 1, 1933 – May 4, 2009 was an American actor, comedian, film director, television producer, chef, and author. He was the husband of actress Carol Arthur, and the father of actor, writer, director Peter DeLuise, and actors David DeLuise and Michael DeLuise. Dom DeLuise has died at the age of 75. The actor comedian died peacefully in his sleep last night around 6pm. DeLuise starred in classics like “ Blazing Saddles “, “The Cannonball Run “, “ Spaceballs “, and “ Robin Hood: Men in Tights “. Dom DeLuise loved to cook just about as much as he loved acting. He began “second life” later in his career as a chef. He wrote 2 cookbooks and appeared now and again on morning television to cook up his favorite dishes. It saddens me deeply today to report that the truly gifted funnyman Dom Deluise has died at the age of 75, according to TMZ . Yeah, I know this has little do with horror. OK, the guy was in Haunted Honeymoon, and his last movie will be Horrorween, due out in October--how's that? Besides, in the words of my illustrious colleague BJ-C --my blog, my rules. Picking up on something I saw on Mark Evanier’s blog about Dom DeLuise: In 2002, I was executive producer of the Ovation Awards here in Los Angeles. The director of the show suggested we invite Dom DeLuise to be one of the presenters. I loved Dom DeLuise’s work, but I had concerns. Life can be funny and ironic. And also very sad on a day like today. In 2006 , I got involved with a writer and producer to discuss the possibility of making a feature film, so I flew out to Hollywood in 2007 to check out the situation.
