Bassist Donald “Ean” Evans of the Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd has died of cancer at his home in Mississippi. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Evans died Wednesday. He was 48. Donald 'Ean' Evans was a bassist with Lynyrd Skynyrd. He passed way on May 7, 2009, after a short battle with cancer. He took over on bass after the death of original member Leon Wilkenson, who also died of cancer. Earlier this year, Skynyrd keyboardist Billy Powell died of a heart attack. From E!
