Put Videos On PSP | Load Videos On PSP | Play It & Pimp It

It's really cool if we can pimp our PSP and be able to maximize it's use and get our money's worth.  There are a lot of free videos, games, music and movies to download online that we can take advantage of if we can only learn the tech stuff.

Let's make things simple.  If you want to put videos on PSP and watch it anywhere you go there are just a few things you have to do.  Remember, that your PSP can only play MP4 videos so what ever video you want to load should be converted first to that format for this to work.  That is just the thing that I don't understand with Sony , they had to make our lives complicated.  They could have just made the device compatible to all kinds of videos, IMO.

There are a lot of free video converters you can download from the internet for this job but be careful what you choose.  Download only from trusted sources or might get a free trojan virus too.  There are different video converters for every type of video file extension so you have to know first what file extension does the video you want to put on your PSP is.

Step One:  Download A Free Video Converter To Convert Videos To MPEG4

  • If you are comfortable with using the computer, I recommend you download PSP Video 9 since it can convert almost all video file extensions, it is free, but it can be a pretty beast if you do not know what you are doing.  If you are not familiar with tech stuff you may get confused at first.
Here's one feedback about PSP Video 9 from a confused novice that I thought you might want to see:

  • If you are planning to put DVD videos on PSP then you will need a DVD decrypter so you can rip the DVD to your harddrive.  They have a free trial for the software.
  • Convert the videos with the free software into the MPEG 4 format which is the video format the PSP can read.

Step Two: Transfer Video Files On PSP
  • Download a free trial version of PSP video manager , and transfer the MP4 video on PSP directly; this supports all firmware versions of PSP
  • When you have downloaded it, connect your PSP via the USB cable just add your MP4 video file to the software, move the file and your done.
If you want to do it manually:
  •  connect your PSP to the computer using the USB 2.0 cable and click the "USB Connectivity" option in your PSP's main menu. This will allow you to browse the Memory Stick Duo inserted into your PSP.

Take note where you save the video file on your Memory Stick.  Video files should be placed outside the "PSP" folder unlike music and image files.
  • Create a folder called "MP_ROOT" and inside that folder create another folder named "100MNV01."  This is where you are going to copy your encoded videos
  • Save the files using a format like this: "M4V00000.MP4"; you can change the numbers "00000" to fit your preference (like "M4V00027.MP4").
And that's just about it.  You have single handedly put videos on PSP successfully,  You can now start enjoying your favorite movies, videos, games and music anytime and anywhere you want, I hope.

I know it is better said than done at first.  I had to work around it and I too, got confused at first.  But eventually, you'll get it.  But if you want to shorten the learning curve there are a few websites that provide free video tutorials on everything you do with your PSP

PSP Video 9 feedback I have been using PSP Blender for a while now.  The site has all the links, video tutorials and free downloads (not trial versions), I need to get things done.

I now know how to get FREE unlimited game downloads , movies and videos to put on my PSP.  The Internet is like a gigantic virtual library where we can get all the things we need.  But these kind of websites has become the virtual web hang-out of PSP enthusiasts
like me.  I don't need the headhache, the waste of time and the cumbersome web search for what has been tried and tested.  If you want to learn how to put videos on PSP, even FREE movies, games, and music, there is an authority you can go to for that.  And I know for a fact that if it works for a lot of people then, it will work for me.  Check out the sites if you don't want to sweat the tech stuff anymore.  Happy Gaming! :)
