Boston's Dropkick Murphys have announced a run of headlining dates early next year leading up to their annual hometown St. Patrick's Day performances. Prior to the six shows in Boston, the band will hit 13 cities beginning February 24th. The band is also working on finishing their live CD+DVD, Live On St Patrick's Day 2009, which is expected to be released in time for the shows next year.

There are certain things that just make sense in the music industry in relation to geography. There is something special about seeing Bruce Springsteen in New Jersey, Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden, Reel Big Fish anywhere in California or Dropkick Murphys in Boston.
