A Hurricane Watch is now in effect for the Florida Keys from south of Ocean Reef to Key West, including the Dry Tortugas and Florida Bay. On the mainland, a Hurricane Watch extends from the Card Sound Bridge westward to Tarpon Springs.  

A Hurricane Watch has been extended to Anna Maria Island including Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. The watch area extends southward to include the Florida Key, and the Dry Tortugas in preparation for Tropical Storm Fay.
