By Mail Foreign Service Last updated at 11:21 AM on 11th November 2009 Add to My Stories Anti-monarchy protesters yesterday hijacked the Prince of Wales' Canadian tour and clashed with riot police in a night of violence. An extreme group of Quebec nationalists staged a sit-in street protest last night after fighting broke out with officers sent to clear them away. One man was left bleeding from the head and another was dragged from the crowd and arrested in the worst violence seen during a royal protest in many years. More than 100 protesters had staged their demonstration outside the regimental hall of The ... Read Full Story

The hand held parasol was a steady companion for Victorian women, not only to protect from the sun, but used as a tool for seduction, very much like the fan..., "a flutter of lashes over the lace of a fan, or the flirtatious twirl of a parasol could say a lot." And it has made the transition to the 21st century! At least it has for Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall (here with Prince Charles on Seymour Island, earlier this year)... ... and for brides-to-be. There are times when you just cannot sum up an event with a couple of photos especially one that ... Read Full Story

A bit of a wasted job this one, due largely to the army not allowing us to get close to Camilla - despite numerous security checks and the fact that the photographers were well know to the Clarence House, who look after Charles and Camilla's visits. They also seemed overprotective about how close she could get to army personal, which was a shame as some of them were wearing gas masks and undertaking drills, so it could have made for a fairly interesting shot. Instead we were basically left to photograph HRH walking around a hanger. All this on my Birthday too, not great. ... Read Full Story

The Duchess of Cornwall bumped into a young recipient of her charity work yesterday — and at first he was none too pleased. Jerrod, 3, who attends a nursery that uses the facilities of the Barnado’s centre in Harlesden, northwest London, was a little squashed when she accidentally backed into him as she bent down to talk to a little girl. But after pulling a face and rubbing his head, he was soon smiling and running around again. The Duchess...

Twelve years after her death, Princess Diana’s conduit-in-chief continues to speak on her behalf.“Whatever she does, she cannot win,” is how Andrew Morton summed up the recent Canadian reception for Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. She and her colonizing partner-in-crime, Prince Charles, had barely left our shores, following an 11-day tour, when the noisy biographer hit the Web to give his performance review.“Camilla Parker Bowles is...
