Dustin Penner scored twice against his former teammates, Dwayne Roloson made 51 saves, and the Edmonton Oilers beat Anaheim 5-3 on Friday night to vault over the Ducks in the battle for a playoff berth. Edmonton moved into seventh with 81 points in the race for the eight Western Conference playoff spots. Anaheim and Nashville are tied for the eighth with 80 points.
