According to Vikings coach Brad Childress, his relationship with quarterback Brett Favre is fine, despite their animated sideline conversation during Sunday’s 26-7 loss to the Panthers. Childress suggested having Favre sit it out when the Vikings were struggling but still leading 7-6, and the quarterback had been taking a pounding from the Panthers’ pass rush. We shouldn’t be surprised to learn that Brett Favre has been changing plays and giving orders for the Minnesota Vikings. After all, what kind of impression of leadership is left on a team when the head coach picks up the star player from the airport? I would be surprised if head coach Brad Childress ISN’T picking up his dry cleaning and delivering his lunch.   Childress really has no choice in the matter. Injured Minnesota Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson is returning to Minnesota. Henderson had surgery in Phoenix after breaking his left thigh bone in Sunday night's loss at Arizona. He had been in a hospital, but he was cleared Wednesday to come back. "He's a man of few words, but he's in good spirits by all indications," coach Brad Childress said.  

Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress says linebacker E.J. Henderson is in "good spirits" after having surgery on his broken left leg. Henderson stayed in intensive care at a Phoenix-area hospital while the rest of his teammates went home Sunday night after a 30-17 loss to the Cardinals. Childress said Monday that the surgery went well.
