The Golden State Warriors announced Monday they have waived Earl Barron and recalled Chris Wright from the Dakota Wizards of the NBA D-League. Barron was signed in January after the Warriors lost Kwame Brown for at least three months due to a chest injury.

Earl Daniel Barron, Jr. (born August 14, 1981 in Clarksdale, Mississippi) is a professional basketball player who has played with the Miami Heat and with the Italian team Fortitudo Bologna. He was a 7'0" center from the University of Memphis. He began his professional career with the Turkish team Tuborg Pilsener in 2003. Prior to the 2005-2006 season, he also played with the Red Bull Thunder team in the Philippine Basketball Association in the Philippines, the first professional league in Asia, and in the NBA Development League. He spent the 2004 pre-season with the Orlando Magic, but was waived before the regular season began. Since August 4, 2005 he played for the Miami Heat until he signed a one-year $2 million deal with the Italian team Fortitudo Bologna.
