Economic Stimulus Plan

The other day I heard the economist Martin Feldstein telling people on the radio that the best thing they could do for the economy is to spend their economic stimulus checks.  

I t's not every day that you receive a windfall. But earlier this month, the last of the economic stimulus checks were distributed to taxpayers who filed their income tax returns by April 15.  

The last federal economic stimulus checks went out Friday, July 18, under the planned payment schedule for tax returns filed before April 15. However, the Internal Revenue Service will continue processing tax returns and issuing economic stimulus checks for much of the year.
