CNN.com - Ok, so lot’s of musicians can’t read music, big deal right? Sure, sure - but how many of them single-handedly changed the sound of Rock music, hmmm?
Yeah, I know - probably many influential ones were self taught so it’s really not that surprising. You can find examples of guitarists who took tons of lessons before striking out with their own sound (I believe Randy Rhoades was one of those, but don’t quote me. Ah hell, quote me - I can use the controversy) and you can find examples of mavericks who learned what they know by sitting in their bedroom & fiddling around.
So what’s my point? No point really. Just thought the linked interview on CNN was interesting & it’s always fun to hear the background of a legendary player.
Now tone deaf - THAT would be amazing if he were tone deaf too.
