Someday We’ll Go All the Way by Eddie Vedder ———- Eddie Vedder, you have forever earned my respect. To me this is easily the best Chicago Cubs song written since Steve Goodman’s Go Cubs Go in 1984. That was written 24 years before this one and we still find ourselves “waiting for next year”. Eddie Vedder’s Chicago Cubs song was apparently written in the spring of 2008. Eddie Vedder was attending a Cubs spring training game in Mesa, AZ and naturally used his celebrity status to get into the clubhouse. (If I was a celebrity I would milk that to get into as many ... Those of you who live in Albany, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta and Hawaii are in for a treat this summer as Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam fame) will be setting out on a mini solo tour starting in June. This tour follows his sold out, seven-date 2008 West Coast tour last April and his sold out, ten-date East Coast tour last August. Of course, I'm not lucky enough to be living any where near any of these places or even in the same country, but the news ( as posted on their myspace blog ) is exciting none the less: TICKETS ON SALE ... Eddie Vedder, lead singer of the popular grunge super-group Pearl Jam, has been venturing out on his own lately, most recently contributing to the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed movie Into the Wild. True Pearl Jam fans already know that Eddie is an accomplished musician in his own right, and anyone that’s heard his solo work can imagine what an amazing live show he puts on. Along with Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder reluctantly became a celebrity and an alt-rock spokesman when his band, Pearl Jam, hit the big time in the early ’90s. But things didn’t come easy for Vedder. With a tumultuous home ... Read Full Story

I hesitate to say that the new PEARL JAM is a return to form. It's really not fair to compare their most recent work with the first couple of records because those albums, "Ten" in particular, were touchstone musical moments. When a band crosses over beyond just the appeal of a fan base to something that is more mass then the weight of expectations often overwhelm the band. They may continue to write, record and release music but it will always pale in comparison to that seminal work of their initial recordings. This is different than a one hit wonder or a single album ... Read Full Story

Over its 15-year history, the Warped Tour has played host to the likes of Bad Religion, Blink-182, Katy Perry, Ice-T, NOFX, No Doubt and on and on. In fact, it's pretty much a rite of passage for every punk band -- and artists who embrace the punk spirit -- to hit the asphalt with Warped at least once. But even with the literally thousands of acts have played the festival in past, Warped founder Kevin Lyman still has a wish list, albeit a very...
