Eddy Arnold was an American country music singer. Arnold was the all-time leader in an overall ranking for hits and their time on the charts. Arnold died on May 8, 2008 in Tennessee, one week before his 90th birthday.

NASHVILLE — Eddy Arnold, the gentleman crooner who took country music uptown and sold more than 85 million recordings over seven decades, died Thursday. He was 89.
