We’re down to two. Edgerrin James was shown the door yesterday, leaving the Seahawks with only Julius Jones and Justin Forsett as the only two running backs on the team’s 53-man roster. However, come season’s end, there could be additional shakeups. Julius Jones only has 346 yards and one touchdown on the ground this year. The Edgerrin James era in Seattle is officially over. The Hawks today cut James, releasing him after he never made any type of impact on a team that really could have used a boost in the run game. The 31-year-old was inked by the Hawks late in August. James wasn’t the only one that was shown the door today, as the team also released safety C.J. Wallace and cornerback Travis Fisher. The Seattle Seahawks have released running back Edgerrin James , per Danny O'Neill of The Seattle Times . James, who was released by Arizona this summer, signed with the Seahawks in August. Through seven games, James had 46 carries for 125 rushing yards and no touchdowns. His 2.7 yard per carry average was the lowest of his career. In Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, however, James gained 17 yards on the ground moved into tenth place on the all-time rushing list with 12,246 career rushing yards. Defiantly, or perhaps obliviously, Edgerrin James told reporters in Seattle last month, ``It's up to me how long I want to play and how far I move up that [all-time rushing] chart.'' If only.
