Edie Sedgwick (born April 1943, died November 16, 1971) was an American actress, model, socialite, and heiress. Born in Santa Barbara, California, to an established family, Sedgwick met artist and avant-garde filmmaker Andy Warhol in 1965. He cast her in several of his films, helping to establish her as one of the "It-Girls" of the 1960s.
