Marion Cotillard has confessed she couldn’t dance when she took on a role in highly anticipated musical Nine. The La Vie en Rose star appeared as a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show to promote the movie when she revealed her skills had to be honed by professionals. “I thought I could dance, and I actually couldn’t,” she admitted. “Fortunately, we had this amazing team of dancers that worked with us. I would dance from the time I would wake up until the time I would go back to bed.” In her breakthrough movie, Cotillard sang her way to winning [ Read More ] ... Read Full Story

When it comes to classy foreign beauties, Marion Cotillard is always at the top of my list. Not only is the Parisian actress able to access her emotion for dramas like "Jeux d'enfants" and "La Vie En Rose", but she can also give major face and strike a fierce pose with the best of 'em. And if you don't believe me, just check out these print ads of the actress for the fragrance, Lady Dior. I tell you, when I think Dior I think luxury, elegance and an amazing attention to detail. The same adjectives I would use to describe Marion, making this collaboration ... Read Full Story

Director: Olivier Dahan, 2007. La Vie en Rose tells the biography of Edith Piaf, France's most famous singer, who died in 1963 at the young age of 48. Writer-director Dahan brings an astonishing performance from Marion Cotillard as Piaf. Cotillard seems to have submersed herself into this role, looking and sounding remarkably like the actual singer. So terrific is her acting here that she won the Oscar for best actress. Even as Piaf ages, and she did go downhill very quickly, Cotillard is lost in the person of Piaf. Born Edith Gassion, she was given the stage name La Môme Piaf, literally the little ... Live album and DVD to be taped at two special shows Brother Rufus got there first with his infamous Judy Garland tribute, but Martha Wainwright’s latest project sounds like it could be even better. Well known for trotting out a powerful rendition of Edith Piaf’s ‘Adieu Mon Cœur’ during her live sets, Martha will be going the whole hog by teaming up with composer Hal Willner for a two-night performance of some of the Little Sparrow’s lesser known treasures. New York is a little far for us to travel to a gig – even one as special as this – so it’s a good ... Read Full Story

(Co-op)An album that does no more and no less than it says on the sleeve: in June, Martha Wainwright staged three New York concerts devoted to Edith Piaf's music and sung in French, and here releases 15 tracks from the performances. We're told that Wainwright has been "totally influenced and captivated by Piaf" since she was eight, so even if this charmingly self-indulgent project fails to attract attention beyond her small but fierce fanbase...
