Few archaeological finds stir up the sort of controversy that surrounds the Nefertiti bust on display at the Egyptian Museum in Berlin.  Some conclude it to be a forgery.  Egyptian officials believe they have evidenced indicating it was removed from Egypt under suspicious and unusual circumstances through trickery by the German Egyptologist, Ludgwig Borchadt.  The dispute is a source of Egyptian national pride and they continue to pursue the return of this potentially ill-gotten artifact. Read more about this international archaeological dispute . Regardless of ownership, the Nefertiti bust is a beautiful artifact that captures the imagination of all who lay eyes upon it.  ... In Ancient Egypt, the cat was known as mau and played a significant role in the society and mythology of Ancient Egypt. Even feral and untamed, the cat served a useful purpose for the farmers in Ancient Egypt by protecting their crops from vermin. In 1924, a bust of a beautiful woman was put on display at the Egyptian Museum in Berlin. The bust depicts a woman with a long, slender neck and possessed of great beauty. In fact her name, “Nefertiti,” means the “beautiful one has come.” Despite her vast beauty and the rise of her legend in modern times, details of Nefertiti’s life are scarce and were it not for the discovery of this exquisite bust, she may have faded from ancient history all together. Queen Nefertiti was wife to the Pharaoh Akhenaten, ruler of Egypt around the time of 1350 B.C. It is believed that ... Read Full Story

What do I have in common with Queen Nefertiti? Finally, I may have something in common with the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. Unfortunately, I don’t have her regal bearing nor classic beauty—but rather a possibility of heart disease. Using medical scans, scientists examined mummies of well-off ancient Egyptians from Cairo’s Museum of Antiquities and found signs of atherosclerosis, or hardening...

Student Life (Kemi Aladesuyi)This is another of those articles that I find really frustrating. It's the same old rehashed summary of both the general issues and of the situation regarding Nefertiti, and it asks the same old questions. In this case the writer admits that she/he doesn't have the answers, but thinks that in spite of not having any answers to the important questions the bust should be returned willy-nilly:Although I do not know...

The 2010 Voxan VX10 Nefertiti. For those want a more exotic Honda Hornet... It comes from a small French motorcycle manufacturer, is named after a very old Egyptian queen and for a bit of extra fun, one of its assembly line workers strapped on an extra headlamp to make it look funkier.
