California is the birthplace of the coming EV invasion, but a tiny town in Iowa wants to be the birthplace of a “Pony Express” of charging stations that will keep those cars going. Businessman Mike Howard has erected four charging stations in Elk Horn , a town of 650 people about an hour east of Omaha. He has plans to install four more soon. United States and China reach EV agreement President Obama’s recent trip to China yielded big news for electric vehicle owners: He and Chinese President Hu Jintao have come together, agreeing to have both countries work together on developing standards that will help get electric vehicles on the road in a quicker,more cost effective way.   The two nations will explore new ways to implement joint product and testing standards for EVs, including plugs and batteries.
