A watcher named Rufus

A quiet street except for morning and afternoon traffic; still Rufus never leaves his post. My concrete wonder with wings, imaginary watcher of the small 1938 gothic garden, keeps stray cats away. I wonder what they think when they look over and see him? The squirrels go out of their way to avoid this space. Rufus looks like a bull dog with wings.

Lately there have been so many towers built around the neighborhood, makes you wonder what Rufus is watching for? You know those cell phone towers that have multi-arms like they're reaching out for us. Are they reaching out for us, or will they one day beam us up and over? I've read articles that say, "not to worry," others claim "ultimate brain fry." I'll tell you what I feel. I have always been one of those people sensitive to electromagnetic and electrial type issues. I feel tingling sensations some days and they go as quickly as they arrived. I "see" things that I don't understand, but knowing that it could happen in a future point in time; that can be a bit scary.

Good example: I was in the hospital and saw the supernove 1987A explosion. I saw it expand into two rings. Later I discovered a photo of it and compared it to the drawings I had done two years before... wow. My photos are on diskettes and I'm in the process of trying to find them. The nova split into two rings and the gases and stuff headed our way. It could be why there are problems with the sun now. Within this event lies the truth to global warming. But it may take some extra towers to convince of a different thought... hmm?

Not to worry as Rufus is on the watch and with each small crumble of concrete that threatens to disfigure him, I embrace his demise as I do my own. I can't control the future, can't know the answers to change any of this, but if I had the chance, I'd end taxes and throw a big block party!
