I almost sent this receiver back without even opening it because of all the bad press its getting on the various AV forums, which I discovered only after I made the purchase. Another fine product from Onkyo. I matched this receiver with the Onkyo 750 speaker set and it's amazing! All audio formats thus far are great. Although regular Dolby Digital sounds best. Only watched 8 movies with different formats so far. All studios do their audio differently, so the jury is still out on Master audio being supreme. Purchased this to replace a failing Pioneer reciever. 3 people noticed a difference in how things sounded while watching movies on bluray. HDMI upconversion isn't bad. It's nice to have a single hdmi cable running up to my tv knowing I can plug anything I want into my receiver and not have to fiddle. This device is, well, unusual. I have a lot of feelings about it, both positive and negative.
Pos. Has HD radio - something you can't get with Bose. HD sounds GREAT, mostly because the signal is not generally "processed" like the analog FM signal is. HD is noticeably cleaner with better dynamic range.
