‘Weeds’ is returning for its sixth season, and judging from the trailer, it looks like the disturbing story-lines will continue. This news is devastating. Elizabeth Perkins is leaving 'Weeds' to play James Marsden's mother in 'I Hop,' a live-action CG-Animated comedy. Good for her? Actress Elizabeth Perkins has quit cult TV show Weeds to play James Marsden’s mum in a new movie.
The Big star was nominated for three Emmy Awards for her role as Celia Hodes in the drug-fueled comedy-drama.
The departure news comes as Perkins signs on to play Enchanted star Marsden’s mother in live action/animation film Hop.
In the film Marsden is entrusted with the welfare of the son of the Easter Bunny, voiced by Russell Brand, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
