MUSIC NEWS - Hear Music (Starbucks) has announced a June 2, 2009 release of Elvis Costello’s new album ‘ Secret, Profane & Sugarcane’ (track list below). The album was produced by T Bone Burnett and recorded by Mike Piersante during a three-day session at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio. With Costello at the sessions were Jerry Douglas (dobro), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Mike Compton (mandolin), Jeff Taylor (accordion) and Dennis Crouch (double bass). These players are some of the most highly regarded recording artists and musicians in traditional American country music, Bluegrass and beyond. I try not throw the word shimm around here too loosely. Not everything is the shimm that is posted on the Shimm. Of course, my music postings are of the highest quality. This is my favorite thing to eat in New York @ Momofuku. That pork is really incredibly delicious and that bun is the highest quality bun I've encountered. MUSIC NEWS - In praise of independent music retailers, Elvis Costello will celebrate the release of his new ‘ Secret, Profane & Sugarcane ’ album (out via Starbucks' Hear Music label) on Monday, June 22, 2009 by performing free in-store shows at Amoeba Records San Francisco, CA and Hollywood locations (sorry Berkeley store!). Costello will kick off his one day “ Amoeba Music Tour ” at Noon PT with a performance at Amoeba San Francisco, then fly south for a performance at 8pm pdt at Amoeba Hollywood .
