I needed to replace the very cheaply priced ceiling fan in our bedroom, which we'd had for years. It had developed a noisy motor vibration on low speed. Fans in the other rooms are Concord huggers (we have low ceilings) but Concord huggers, which are quiet, have heavier motors and are bargain priced, are not made any more so I got the Emerson. I purchased one of these fairly expensive ceiling fans for our large family room.I've had it for a few months now. Pros: 1. Looks sleek, especially with the tapered blades 2. Has 6 speeds for the fans, more than most other fans 3. Fan is very quite - at higher speeds you get wind noise, but no audible motor noise 4. Remembers the last setting even after power outage 5. This fan is very energy efficient and moves lots and lots of air.On High it only takes 24 watts and less than 5 watts on low.It is built with a newly designed DC motor using permanent magnets to accomplish this level of efficiency and it has 6 speeds. We got this alarm clock radio for my 6yr old son for Christmas, his first alarm clock. He loves it. You can set it to wake up by radio, or the Hot Wheel soundwhich is wheels peeling out and an anouncer telling the racers to "START YOUR ENGINES", then the wheels peel out again and says something about racing for the checkerd flag.
