Emily Osment on Television

Osment's foray into the entertainment industry began in 1998, when she was cast in a commercial for the mega flower delivery company, FTD. From there, she went on to feature in many commercials, after which, she made her acting debut in the 1999 film The Secret Life of Girls, featuring Eugene Levy and Linda Hamilton. The same year she co-starred alongside Glenn Close in the Hallmark Classic telefilm, Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winter's End, a role that would lead to a nomination for a "Young Artists Award". Since then, she has gone on to do a number of roles.She made appearances on television shows such as Touched by an Angel, Friends, and 3rd Rock From the Sun.

She is currently working on the Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana, playing the role of Lilly Truscott.The role lead to a nomination for a "Young Artists Award" for Best performance in a TV series (Comedy or Drama) Supporting young actress. The series premiere scored record ratings for Disney Channel with a viewership of 5.4 million viewers, a response "beyond our wildest expectations," according to the president of Disney Channel Entertainment. Osment is close friends with fellow Hannah Montana stars Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso.Osment is good friends with fellow Hannah Montana co-stars Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso, often texting and conference calling each other during busy days. Miley Cyrus taught Emily Osment how to play the guitar and Osment taught Cyrus how to knit. She is also friends with the stars of the highly successful TV movie High School Musical, including Vanessa Hudgens and the stars of the Disney Channel Original series The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody including Brenda Song and Ashley Tisdale.

In addition,Disney released a Hannah Montana clothing collection in late summer.Osment helped to design some of the pieces from the collection.

Osment also had a voice over role in a movie called Holidaze: The Christmas That Almost Didn't Happen, which also featured the voices of fellow Disney Channel stars, Brenda Song and Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

In 2006, Osment was invited to participate in the first Disney Channel Games and was a member of the Green Team. In 2007, she was a member of a new team that year, the yellow team. She also starred as a goth in RL Stine's: The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It (co-starring with Hannah Montana's co-star Cody Linley). It has been released on DVD.

In 2007, Osment signed a deal to appear in a nationwide campaign called "Smart Girls Rock" by the New York based denim brand Vanilla Star.  Osment is set to star in a new Disney Channel Original Movie called Dadnapped co-starring Disney Channel stars Jason Earles and David Henrie.  As a result Osment won the Poptastic rising star award for Popstar! Magazine's 6th Annual Poptastic Awards!.

Emily Osment sang vocals in Billy Ray Cyrus's song "You've Got a Friend" from his 2007 album, Home At Last. Osment has also recorded a song entitled "I Don't Think About It" for RL Stine's: The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It under the label Hatchery. Osment also shot an accompanying music video for the song, released in the The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It DVD. The music video also premiered on The Cartoon Network. In addition, Osment has also been recording songs with The Disney Channel Circle Of Friends, the songs are going to be released in 2008.

Osment's screen debut is in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (which led to a "Young Artist Award" for Best performance in a feature film) and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over,where Osment portrays the character Gerti Giggles.Osment has a series of voice over roles in Walt Disney movies like The Jungle Book 2,The Hunchback of Notre Dame II and Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch.Osment also had a voice over role in a movie called Holidaze: The Christmas That Almost Didn't Happen and in Edward Fubbwupper Fibbed Big.

Osment has starred in RL Stine's: The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It , for which she recorded a song entitled "I Don't Think About It". According to ABC news, Osment is currently filming a Disney Channel Original Movie entitled Dadnapped.

I stopped paying attention to the Disney Channel once "Lizzie McGuire" retired from the air. As far as I was concerned, no Hilary Duff, no viewership from me. But the Disney Channel apparently didn't need me. The children's TV powerhouse has only gotten stronger, cranking out hits like "High School Musical" and "Hannah Montana.
