Although it made for some wildassed comedy, it’s been confirmed by one of the writers behind the show that the Eminem/Bruno stunt on Sunday’s MTV awards was staged. The stunt was created with Eminem's consent, and the two rehearsed it before the live show, the publication says, citing sources close to MTV and Cohen, as well as a blog entry from comedy writer Scott Aukerman. When Eminem returned to his hotel following the show, he found that his hotel room had been broken into. Several item were taken totaling thousands of dollars. Among the things taken were a diamond necklace worth around $60,000 as well as Eminem’s laptop.
