Change the word “friend” to “leader” and apply this to your employees. Help them identify their strengths, rather than focusing on their weaknesses; work with them to fortify their faith in themselves and get past their concerns; let them know the positive rather than identifying the negative. Hand the bonuses out on the employes anniversary with the company or, even better, the employee’s birthday. It’s a lot more focused on the person rather than the reward.
