It’s been nearly two months into this “Stuff-Happens” way of life, and like with most things in my life, I sometimes do it and sometimes I don’t.
I generally find myself slipping back into old ways (planning out everything and expecting for things to go the way I planed), and then when faced with some fearful situation, I remember to just say “Stuff-Happens” and have acceptance of whatever happens, and the fear goes away.
So it’s nice that at any time I can use this technique, and no... Read Full Story
Today’s Manta is a bit different. I’ve combined two and added two articles for you to read that pertain to them. It’s a bit long, but will be worth the read.
TODAY’S MANTRAS
Today’s First Mantra is “Be Grateful for the Time…..”
This Mantra is simple.
When you wake in the morning, “ Be Grateful for the Time….. “
The time you are spending with your friends and “families”
And at the end of the day, before you retire, “ Be Grateful for the time…. “
The time you spent... Read Full Story
We often read or hear of stories about supposed arch enemies cat and mouse, or dog and cat getting along with each other. Then we read almost daily news about new deaths in the Gaza strip or Iraq or Afghanistan or Sudan. That makes one wonder. If animals of different species, who are naturally supposed to have each other for lunch, can get along... why then can't humans do the same, who are even of the same damn species? Is there a simple cause behind it, like a genetic defect, or are there... Read Full Story
This postcard was copied from StarLightWalker's post: Obstacles. While StarLightWalker received permission from Steve Sorensen, the artist of the beautiful website Nana Gaia to use this photograph, I did not ask. I trust it is acceptable to use for this purpose. I had all good intentions of writing a passable post on resistance on the Virtual Tea House for this carnival, but I didn't do it. I'm trying not to complain these days, but I've been really busy. Who isn't? No excuses...but... Read Full Story
As I share this concept of 100% acceptance with others, the question comes up "what do you mean by acceptance? If I get fired from my job that is a bad thing. Trust me I wont like it". If you look up the definition of acceptance , you will find a number of them, so for the sake of brevity (I can see myself reading this years from now and I will be thankful that I quickly got to the point), I will define it as "lack of anger at the situation".
The definition of anger is usually defined as... Read Full Story
I do believe that the principal of "the opposite of fear is faith" is correct. Here is basically how it works:
There is a "Higher Power" that will always take care of you.
You have "faith" in #1
When anything happens, you just say "it's ok that I lost all my money, if all that matters is serving my Higher Power I can just devote the rest of my life to helping the poor if needed."
On your deathbed you have no fear because you will finally reside with your Higher Power... Read Full Story
All the "Fear" we have is because we anticipate losing something that we don't want to lose. This can be as simple as "I want things to stay the way they are now, I fear that things will change". Therefore, any fear we have will go away if we let go of the underlying "want" or desire.
And, we ALWAYS have the choice to let go of ANY desire.
Of course we all have desires... More... Read Full Story
I’m not big into going clubbing, but I am finding that it provides a tremendous opportunity, not only for spiritual growth, but as an excellent mirror for yourself to see how you respond to human egos.
We could say the human ego is akin to your carnal mind, your animalistic urges, your most primal desires. There’s certainly nothing wrong with these energies. Spiritual growth is not about repressing or denying these energies, but rather choosing to raise your energy up to higher levels so... Read Full Story
I have been pondering recently the difference between spirituality as a life style and spirituality as a quest. Consider the following Blavatsky quote (the modernized English is mine) from The Voice of the Silence , The Seven Portals:
Before you stand on the threshold of the path; before you cross the foremost Gate, you have to merge the two in the One and sacrifice the personal to SELF impersonal, and thus destroy the ‘path’ between the two – antaskarana.
You have to be prepared to... Read Full Story
