The Buffalo Bills began reinforcing their injury-depleted offensive line by signing veteran guard Kendall Simmons. The move was announced Tuesday after the team placed rookie guard Eric Wood on injured reserve. Wood broke two bones in his left leg in an 18-15 loss at Jacksonville on Sunday. Simmons is an eight-year NFL veteran who joins the Bills (3-7) after being released by New England on Nov.

Buffalo Bills starting cornerback Terrence McGee is practicing for the first time in more than three weeks since having surgery on his right knee, and could play against Miami this weekend. McGee said he experienced no pain in his knee after practicing on a limited basis Thursday. He's been out since having minor surgery on Nov.

A person familiar with the Bills' search told The Associated Press that the team has contacted the former Denver Broncos' coach.
