Pitcher Eric Gagne is coming back to pitch in his home province. The former NL Cy Young Award winner has accepted a deal with the Quebec Capitales of the independent Can-Am League. A reliever throughout most of his major league career, Gagne will pitch as a starter for the independent league team, the club said Wednesday. Surgery Journal: What Were Red Sox Thinking When They Got Eric Gagne? by acomdata (12/30/2011)

I mean, they trade a promising RHP Gabbard for a relief pitcher who was awesome a few years, but wasn’t the same after all his surgeries. And in 7 games he allowed 10 runs and cost us 3 or 4 games. I’m sure he’ll single-handedly turn our once-dominant bullpen into an average one. I guess [...]Read Full Story

Eric Gagne is Back?

By SportsPageNetwork on  From thefantasypitch.com
The Dodgers have come to terms with some guy named Eric Gagne .  Do not be confused, this is not the same Eric Gagne that won the 2003 NL Cy Young Award while serving as the Dodgers closer.  This is not the same Eric Gagne who saved 84 straight opportunities, a record that still stands.  No, this Eric Gagne is much different.  This Eric Gagne was not even in the Majors last season.  This Eric Gagne played in a Canadian league last year, and was torched for a 4.65 ERA.  While dude did get an...Read Full Story

Championship series Previews

So there you have it. I was 3/4 with my predictions, correctly guessing the exact games the Phillies and Brewers would last. Rays and Red Sox. Phillies and Dodgers. There are a few significant points with these matchups. I think it's pretty much cemented that this year's AL East was the best division since they went with the three division format. The third place Yankees won 89 games and the first two teams are now undeniably the two best in the entire league. With the sweep of the Cubs...Read Full Story
