The community of Clarkstown, NY is reeling, after news broke that
Jami Erlich, a 32-year-old gym teacher, was found murdered in her condo on Sunday evening. According to police, Erlich was stabbed repeatedly.

Eric Lau, a 32-year-old resident of the same condo where Erlich lived. Police have not named Lau as a suspect in the the investigation, but believe he may have been near the scene of the murder. "We feel there is a very good possibility he heard something or saw something so we want to talk to him,“ said Detective Lt. Charles Delo, speaking to the
Lower Hudson Journal.
Lau did not show up for a work on Monday, a move that has raised eyebrows. He might be absent from work for innocent reasons,“ said Delo. ”He might be afraid of what he saw or he doesn't realize what he saw. We need to talk to him.“

Erlich was a popular gym teacher at Robert P. Connor Elementary School in Suffern. She had recently moved into the two-story condominium complex, after recently finalizing a divorce between herself and her husband of three years.
