Eric O'Hara was Heidi Montag's step-brother. He died in february 2008 when he fell off of the roof of a building. He had been working on the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. Eric was a veteran of Iraq where he served in several missions.

Losing a family member is always painful. And for Heidi Montag, the news of her step brother’s death was agonizing. The Rocky Mountain News reported that Heidi Montag ’s 24yr old stepbrother, Eric O’Hara died in a serious accident at a hotel where he worked. He slipped off a sloped roof while attempting to remove snow at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel in Steamboat Springs. He was a veteran of various U.S. Combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
