* Galápagos land iguanas, Conolophus, are huge land lizards. They walk very slowly and enjoy baking in the hot sun.
* Marine Iguanas, Amblyrhynchus cristatus, are the only iguanas who in the sea. They are usually darker in color than the land iguanas.
* Galápagos tortoises (Galápagos Giant tortoises), Geochelone elephantopus, are huge ancient turtles.
* Galápagos Green Turtles, Chelonia mydas agassisi, are a subspecies of the traditional green turtle.
* Sea cucumbers are often the cause of environmental battles with fishermen over quotas of this expensive Asian delicacy.
* Flightless Cormorants, Phalacrocorax harrisi, are land locked birds
* Great Frigatebird and Magnificent Frigatebird, puff up their red chests to attract mates.
* Blue-footed Boobies, Sula nebouxii, are popular among visitors for their large blue feet.
* Galápagos Penguins, Spheniscus mendiculus, are the only living tropical penguins in the world
* Waved Albatross, Phoebastria irrorata, is the only living tropical albatross
* Galápagos Hawks, Buteo galapagoensis, are the islands' main scavenger and "environmental police"
