I am so sad to hear that Golden Girl Estelle Getty passed away today, three days away from her 85th birthday. She played the role of spunky Sophia on the Golden Girls. I remember falling in love with this show before they were re-runs. Such great comedy!
Estelle suffered from dementia in her later years. She is survived by two sons who were at her side when she passed.
