Getty Images It's been 12 years since Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have been in the same room together, and the last time it happened things got ugly: Mike bit off a hunk of his opponent's ear during their boxing match in what is probably one of sports' most memorable events. But, today, their reunion on Oprah was far less gruesome and savage -- the two tough guys actually hugged it out and put the rivalry to rest. Leave it to Oprah. WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev said on Wednesday he will use challenger David Haye's own words as motivation to defeat the brash Englishman when the pair clash here on Saturday. The Russian plans to let his fists do the talking at the Nuremberg Arena as Haye has regularly hurled insults his way and branded Valuev, who tips the scales at around 145kgs and is 2.13m tall, a 'circus freak'. "His comments have been very motivating," said Valuev. "But let's see what Haye has to offer inside the ring. I don't think he will be able to follow it up. "But I will not under-estimate ...

I did an article on these guys before we left for Israel and I never got to find out who won. I found this video of the last round and after watching this video and other videos on the fight... I would have to say - Haye ran away the whole time and Valuev chased him all over the ring. (The Judges say Haye won?) Windows to Russia! comments always welcome.

Evander Holyfield has no intention of hanging up his gloves. In fact, he'll have a new nickname the next time he climbs into the ring. The Real Deal is now the Lean Green Fighting Machine. Refusing to give up on his goal of retiring as heavyweight champion even as he approaches his 47th birthday, Holyfield said he'll travel to South Korea in November for his next bout — he's not even sure of the opponent — and bring along a message of preserving the environment. Boxing, it seems, has another odd partnership. "I guess I'm lean and green," Holyfield said in a telephone interview ...

With all the rumblings of a Super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, I started thinking of some interesting undercards for arguably the biggest fight of the century.
Tyson-Holyfield 3?
Since seeing Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield on Oprah, and knowing both of their careers are practically over, I thought it would be really entertaining to see them on the undercard to a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.
No one in their right mind...
When I was a kid growing up in the 1970s, only one Briton had won the world heavyweight championship, and that was Bob Fitzsimmons in the previous century.
Things have changed since then – we’ve seen Lennox Lewis, Herbie Hide, Frank Bruno, and the forgettable Henry Akinwande.
