TO CHANGE OR NOT TO CHANGE?

Good Morning: I've been wrestling with an idea for quite some time, but I'm still unsure if it's a wise decision. So, I've decided to bring my idea here, as so many of my readers are artists as well. And those readers who aren't artists have prized opinions as well!! I've been playing with the idea of changing my business name. I've been Garden Painter Art for about 5 years now. The name came from the fact that each and every one of my collages has an image of my garden somewhere within. I... Read Full Story

One Blissfully Art Challenge Down #30

So--I have 29 before this to go back to and finish. :-) I have SO got to go buy some paint, some gesso too. I used--thinned out glue and red food colouring cause that was all I could find to work with this. The top part is unclear--cause my scanner apparently likes to mess with me. But--overall--I like it. I finally figured out what to do with those always on clearance $5 journal and sketch books at borders--now I just need to go get a couple. :-) Not that my comp notebooks are not awesome... "Renewal"-- This Card Must Be Shared

I said I would not make any more soulcollage cards until I had written at least some of their stories--and I did write some before being compelled to make this one. I had meant to sit down and write out four at a time. Four is a good number. Numerologically speaking it is the number of Angels. :-) Mostly I just like things to be even. :-) I sat down--and wrote out five--the number of Magic and High Kings. :-) Didn't even believe I'd done that many when I was done--thought I'd only done three... Not To Be Outdone

As if the Love layout (previous post) was not enough--I was sitting there staring at the horses while waiting for the glue to dry--and I was playing with these leaves. I had harvested my pineapple sage earlier in the evening (or rather night--it was after midnight--no, there is no significance to the time I harvested :-) it is simply a time when I am alone, have no little helper, and no one else is around to bother me and I can be outside under the moon :-) ). Several of the leaves had... Read Full Story

Updated #29 Project--This Hand--Revisited

Ok, so I really like the last hand job I did, lol, but it really wasn't quite what I had envisioned. Neither is this, but it is alot closer. And I really like it, for all its simplicity. Yes, I am having issues with Fear lately, can you tell? :-) Live with the ex I had to live with, well, both of them, for as long as I did, and you'd doubt every single move you ever made as well. But--I am learning--I am growing--and I am determined. :-) Read Full Story

These Hands--Blissfully Art Journal Challenge #29

Well, it just so happened that theme #29 coincided with something I woke up with this morning. :-) The actual theme is 'this hand'--but I hope it's ok that I used both hands. I had been thinking about this hand theme ever since it was first posted--and I had meant to do something completely different--and I may yet do it, later on, as well. But this one today --well-- it just needed to be done. :-) lol--2 down and 28 more to go--not counting bonus themes and the rest. :-) Read Full Story

Tree Ho(l)mes

Tree Ho(l)mes represent tree “holes” that may be “homes” of infamous creatures in Sewanee, Tennessee.    Distinctive leaves, twisted trunk, and mammoth joined tree--resembling leg and foot-- line the winded road.    The vindows (vine windows) peak through the University of the South campus, while the moss hole breeds a rare curiosity about its inhabitants. Cold Spring Thoughts

I am sitting in Cold Spring New York as I write this, and truly it is a cold spring day, rainy wet somewhat undesirable. We realize so often that the undesirable is necessary for the desirable to take root and to grow. That is what springtime is really about. The warm sunny days must be balanced against the cool, wet spring days or the force of nature upon the tender shoot would be so great that the tender root will wither before it has opportunity to fully stretch and grow and become what...
