Features:In comparison to my Sally's Generic Chi Iron, this one is a winner. This is a very simply iron to use: plug it up and turn it on. I liked the on and off switch and that its very easy to find. (most other irons have the heat settings as its on/off and I didn't notice that right away.)

It has a very high heat mode, but also a pretty low setting. Right now my hair is pretty straight so I don't need extreme heat to style my hair and I love that I can adjust the iron to 140
I would definitely agree that it gets hair super shiny, no doubt about that. You only have to run the iron once over the hair to get it pretty smooth. There's also no combs or ridges to the side so the iron runs very smoothly over my hair.
Here's the problem I had with this iron: It takes work with this iron to get highly-textured hair bone straight. I first used this iron on my mother's freshly relaxed hair and I had no problems. Her results were mega-watt shine. The hair was very soft to the touch.
However, when I used it on my friend's hair, Meh-Meh (short for Megan) I got the shine but not the sleekness we were looking for. It flipped her hair wonderfully and did get her roots very straight with relative ease, but her hair was still very poofy. Her hair is not nearly as thick as mine, and these are Meh's words.
So you can only imagine what will happen if I try to straight my hair after several months of new growth.
When I used the iron on my kinks... lets just say one more month past four and I might break this iron. I definitely have to straighten my hair with a blowdryer, then try to use the iron to smooth over the hair.
To try and use this iron on my 4a coils could very resort to trouble that neither myself nor Hana want to deal with.
I really want to give this iron another try during my various stages of stretching before I just write it off. I have photos of my hair after I set it with rollers and let it dry under my bonnet.
I also have photos of my hair after I used the iron to smooth out the unruly curls.
I was hoping to post these photos with this review, but it looks like my new video camera cannot be installed on my computer (If I cannot trouble-shoot this then I'm returning it to the store. Boo, JVC. Just...boo!). As soon as I can figure this monster out, I will re-post the review with the comparison shots.
