Everything You Need to Know About Flat Irons

Stop suffering from frizz-anxiety and start smoothing those strands with a professional flat iron, hair straightener or ceramic styler dedicated to creating and keeping sleek styles.

Beauty Week :: A Flat Iron that Actually Works

Earlier this year, the beauty supply site Misikko asked me if I'd be interested in reviewing a flat iron here on the Blue Orchid Designs blog. "Um. What if I don't like it?" was my first question. They clearly knew they had nothing to worry about because after testing out the flat iron, I am in love.

I am not one of those lucky women who can wash their hair and go, letting the air naturally dry it and have it fall perfectly in place. My hair is frizzy in dry climates, curly in humid, and generally uncooperative. As a rule, I have to blow it out everyday and I have owned just about every hair dryer and flat iron imaginable.

I've been using the Professional Titanium Wet to Dry Ionic Iron by Croc and it is amazing! It features titanium ceramic plates which help control frizz by being low-friction.  The ceramic flat iron is light and has non-slip thumb grips, which is great for me.  It also heats up to 450 degrees in a matter of a couple minutes.  I usually keep mine at about 400 degrees and it pulls out every single hint of a wave in my hair, and keeps it smooth and non-frizzy, even at the roots - a feat that the other flat irons didn't accomplish all that well.

Apparently you can also use it on damp, towel-dried hair, but after a fiasco last year with an overeager hair stylist (in which all my hair was chopped off unexpectedly), I haven't yet been brave enough to try that out.

Of all the flat irons I've owned, this one is by far my favorite.  Which hair product do you own that's your favorite?
