-Be very careful when clicking on any link that is promising you something for nothing.

-If in doubt, type-in their address into your menu bar yourself and DO NOT click on the link they provide you.

-If they are asking for your personal information, make sure it is indeed the official site for that company. Make sure your on a secure server.

-If it sounds to good to be true- It Most Likely Is!

-Make sure the browser your using has a built-in phishing filter. Most we'll known browser's already include this (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera, etc.,) but you MUST have it turned on for them to warn you when you of a possible phishing attack.

Common sense will always prevail when dealing with these sometimes not so bright people.

Another Excellent Tip to warn you it may be some sort of phishing scam is their grammar. Internet Phishing Scams are now a World Wide Phenomenon Covering the Globe.

The most famous and we'll known Internet Crime Gangs are located in Nigeria. They have become so popular with scamming people on the Internet, that their scams are now referred to a "Nigerian 419 Scam" (the 419 is the actual penal code for this type of offense in Nigeria)

Try as hard as they might, when trying to portray they are representing some of the Largest Corporations in the World, they are not the smartest bunch in the group and their phishing emails are usually littered with spelling error's and correct sentences.
