Formula One driver Felipe Massa finally made it home to Brazil yesterday, just nine days after a freak accident on the race course left him fighting for his life in Budapest’s AEK hospital. Sporting a gnarly scar across his forehead, Ferrari driver Felipe Massa today walked out of a Budapest hospital and onto a private plane headed for Brazil, just nine days after a crash that sent him into emergency brain surgery. Massa even told reporters that his replacement shouldn’t get too cozy, because he’ll be back soon. Basically, Felipe Massa is the coolest guy ever. Felipe Massa is now in “life threatening” but stable condition after a Formula One accident on Saturday in the qualifiers for the Hungarian Grad Prix. The driver suffered multiple skull fractures after a freak accident in which a part from another car struck his head, giving him a concussion. Doctors are now keeping the Ferrari driver under sedation to prevent further swelling in his brain, and are confident he will survive but perhaps never drive again due to an injury to his eye.
