SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Jockey Patrick Valenzuela, his career marred by substance abuse and suspensions, won't be riding in California again. His conditional license was revoked this week and the 45-year-old rider won't be able to reapply, the California Horse Racing Board ruled.  

The California Horse Racing Board has ruled that Patrick Valenzuela, the talented but troubled jockey whose riding career has been repeatedly interrupted by numerous suspensions due to substance abuse, is ineligible to obtain a riding license in California.  

Northern California trainer Steven Miyadi has drawn a sixth complaint from the California Horse Racing Board for alleged violations of new rules regarding the use of the synthetic anabolic steroid stanozolol that became official after Aug. 1.
