Faliha Ahmed Hassan was the head of a women's rights group in Hawija, a Sunni Arab town near Kirkuk, Iraq. On October 27, 2006, Faliha was shot to death by gunmen who stormed her home in Kirkuk. The local police are investigating her murder.

Note: some reports spell her name as Halima Ahmed Hussein Juburi. We'll confirm the proper spelling.
