NYIGF: Crowning Glories

By spionnnn on  From 01homedesignideas.blogspot.com
I saw a cute crown that Jenna Lyons had in her office and since then I've been thinking about them as a decorative accent.  I was happy to then see them in many booths at the New York International Gift Fair yesterday. I think I may definitely have to buy one of the gorgeous versions from Vagabond Vintage above.  Luckily, they told me that Mothology carries much of their pieces for those of you who can't buy to the trade or as a designer.  Peacock Park also has many crown styles. A black and...Read Full Story

NYIGF Trend Watch: Red, White, and British

By spionnnn on  From 01homedesignideas.blogspot.com
I guess it makes sense that since stores would be ordering for summer at the New York International Gift Fair there would be a lot of red, white and blue, and nautical items on full display. I was surprised though at all the Union Jacks we saw around the gift fair. Design Legacy , above, had a great mix of American and British memorabilia. Jack & Lulu (that's founder Julie Murphy above) were debuting all of the trends including Nautical anchor hooks, Union Jack coasters and multi-country...Read Full Story

NYIGF: March of the Elephants

By spionnnn on  From 01homedesignideas.blogspot.com
It seemed like animals of all types were on parade at this New York International Gift Fair but none were more prominent than elephants. I especially loved the cute ones at Waylande Gregory above.    The circus elephants at Design Legacy were adorable! I think this is a napkin ring at Dransfield & Ross . A white elephant at Two's Company . An elephant creamer also at Two's Company . Cute elephant print napkins and placemats from Simrin . Yes, there is an elephant in that pack of pillows from...Read Full Story

NYIGF Trend: Chairs for Children

By spionnnn on  From 01homedesignideas.blogspot.com
I attended the New York International Gift Fair yesterday and I have a new found respect for store owners who have to attend all five days to shop for their boutiques! I think I would keel over from exhaustion! I enjoy walking the show to see what's new and if there is anything I would buy for my clients but it's definitely a lot less work! I'm working on my wrap of my favorite new finds but one of the first "trends" I noticed was furniture for children and specifically chairs. Jonathan Adler...Read Full Story
