Today's post is due, in part, to an e-mail that I received from a MyFashionCents.com reader. She wanted to know how to get her husband to trim his 'stache,' so that he didn't look so goofy wearing it. One thing is for certain, wearing a mustache takes a talented individual, one that isn't afraid to try out a little facial hair every now and then. At the 66th annual Golden Globes, there was a surprising trend that nearly every attendee seemed to be sporting -- the mustache. From Sting to... Read Full Story
The mustache is the beard’s bastard cousin, and in my opinion it is one of the most unfortunate forms of facial hair ever. To create one, a man (or burly woman) must grow out the hair on the upper lip while keeping the rest of the face tidy.
Mustaches are still popular in the US among police officers. I wonder if that is why we call them “the fuzz”?
But, there is not just one type of mustache. There’s the prepubescent natural mustache, the bushy Hungarian mustache, the narrow English... Read Full Story

There’s nothing that screams, “I’m a manly man,” more than a well-groomed piece of hair atop a man’s upper lip. Still, not everyone can pull off a mustache. While a mustache can make you seem manly, it takes a real man to wear one. Genereally, when I think of the ideal mustache wearing man I think of someone with a large physique, strong facial features or that works in a career that involves strength, endurance or just plain toughness. Athletes generally fit all of these characteristics... Read Full Story
Image Source Soccer Window Mustache Style: Pencil-ish It can be argued that Carlos Valderrama’s crazy look can be solely attributed to his frizzy blonde hair, but it’s obvious that the Colombian soccer star’s trademark look could never be achieved without his pencil-ish style mustache. The fact that Valderrama’s dark lip hair and eyebrows failed to match his orange-blonde colored hair only made his look better. Despite his odd style Valderrama, nicknamed “El Pibe” or “The Kid” is generally... Read Full Story
Image Source Sports Illustrated Mustache Style: Seriously Thick Fu Manchu Al Hrabosky played in the MLB from 1970 to 1982 and during that time he had quite a reputation. The pitcher inherited the nickname the “Mad Hungarian” because of his Hungarian decent (duh!), his crazy antics and of course his interesting choice of facial hair. He was slightly mad, especially when it came to his pitching routine. Between pitches he would regularly turn his back to the batter, walk towards second base... Read Full Story
