Fantasia Barrino - who faces the loss of her $1.3 million home here in a debtor’s auction set for noon Monday - is apparently ignoring the looming legal threat, officials told The Post yesterday.

Just the other day I was writing about the pending foreclosure of an Extreme Makeover home and now, the imminent sale at public auction of the home of Fantasia Barrino, the winner of the popular American Idol television show.
Apparently Fantasia is really singing the blues these days but I’m confident that the experience, in hindsight, will give her some gret material to use to write some heartbreaking songs of loss.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — An attorney for a lending company says the auction of a million-dollar home belonging to “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino won’t happen because an agreement has been reached.
Charlotte-based attorney Larry Goldman said Saturday in an e-mail to The Associated Press the two sides have worked out the matter. He did not immediately respond to a request for more details.

2009 is THE year for “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino! Not only has the 24-year-old lost 20 pounds but she has decided to hit the books and earn her high school diploma!

Concerns for the American Idol star extends past financial obligations.
Fantasia Barrino appears to be in some deep trouble due to a loan she has yet to pay, and reportedly has gone missing despite multiple attempts by authorities to contact her.
A local sheriff in North Carolina where Barrino borrowed the home loan claims, “I tried at least a dozen times to reach her about the $65,000 she owes…but without success”.
