Cheryl Burke of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars is addressing recent criticism that she’s “too fat.” It seems that viewers and bloggers have been critical of Cheryl, who (according to the dancer herself) gained 5 pounds this summer. That 5 pound weight gain (and who among us HASN’T gone up and down 5 pounds here and there) left Cheryl a whopping size….. FOUR. Yep, that’s right. Fans of the show are criticizing Cheryl for being a SIZE FOUR!!! Have we really gotten to the point where we look at a size 4 woman, who is physically active and in far better shape than most ... Like the women who read them, fashion magazines come in all sizes and varieties. One size does not fit all and the question remains on whether Vogue is far better than Elle, or if W Magazine is superior to them all. Over the years fashion magazines have evolved into a separate genre altogether. Editors have worked hard to establish an audience within a very crowded but popular market. According to her website, her company name "was inspired by the idea ... Read Full Story

Photo: The Sartorialist Looks like I'm not the only one who marvels at the preservation of dapper and ladylike style with flair from yestercentury as displayed by our beloved and stylish elderly. New blog Advanced Style is a different kind of street-style blog in that its subjects of intrigue are from the "wizened and silver-haired set", as seen in the streets of New York. I'm not sure whether the women who have just earned their seniors discount at McDonald's would appreciate being described as such, but the blog is a sincere tribute to those who brighten our day just to see them. Aren't their ... Read Full Story

If you have any interest in eco-fashion at all, you have probably heard about (if not shopped at) Ecoist.com already. These are the folks who make those snazzy handbags out of recycled materials.  You know:   This month Ecoist announced the launch of it's new "Luxe" line--high end bags, also made of recycled materials, but suitable for a more sophisticated wardrobe.  From the press release: At the higher end level, Ecoist Luxe is the company’s fashion-forward line. For the Fall/Winter Collection, the Ecoist design team have innovated new stylish silhouettes like the Maia ($235), featuring a braided shoulder strap and the OC ($138), an ... Read Full Story
