The Stiletto - Still a Fashionable Choice
Very high heels. Can anyone really believe that these shoes were actually built for human feet? Go to any wholesale fashion store for women's styles and sure enough, you are going to see name brand shoes that include these teetering creations. Stilettos are named after a knife and they look like it, reaching up to 8 centimeters high but with a tiny 1 cm point. Yet the 10 inch heel continues to be in style even if scary and precarious.
On the health question, the high heel is utterly unsuitable for the ligaments and bone structure of the feet. So much heavy pressure is pushed down toward the toes that it is the same as an elephant tiptoeing. Foot doctors report that bunions, sprains, and arch injury have become much more common among gals who wear these fashions. Not to mention back problems, arthralgia and shoulder stiffness.
What on earth is the selling point? It is said to create the look of a slim tall leg, muscular calf, and tiny feet. It also affects posture so that bust and buttocks, are emphasized, imagined by many to be fetching. (Forget all the rumor of the stiletto as being a part of the world of fetishes, we won't be taking up that subject!)
The fact remains the reason women love these shoes is the beauty of a terrific wholesale fashion high heel. And being inches taller than normal is a kick! Browsing a wholesale fashion internet site and discovering a pair of rhinestone studded pink heels with towering height and a pointy toe that narrows to almost nothing -- I ask you, how can that not make you want to wear them? And what about the Lamborghini stiletto? True, it is only a concept right now, but c'mon a heel designed like the vaunted Lamborghini emblazoned with headlights? Okay, not a real shoe yet, just a clever advertisement, but how much to do you want to bet that one day you will be able to buy this flamboyant design or a great imitation at a wholesale fashion merchandiser who specializes in ladies shoes?
The alarmingly high heel is not disappearing whatever critics may say: Alexander McQueen is featuring a ten inch high sandal for next year, 2010!
