Ralph Lauren to Dress U.S. Olympians

Super prep Ralph Lauren, known for outfitting the high-society crowd with polo, croquet, tennis and golf apparel, will design the U.S. team’s opening and closing ceremony ensembles.

David Lauren, the designer’s son, said they were going for a very “Chariots of Fire” look. Mission accomplished. This look is obviously intended to class up the American’s déclassé international reputation as of late. Ralph Lauren is a good first step.

Weird, the Polo guy logo seems to have gotten much bigger. Look for an ad campaign that touts Ralph Lauren as the “Official Outfitter of the Olympic Team.”
