He eschewed air nail guns and most powered tools, choosing the patient, deliberate act of hammering shakes one at a time. Each one was accurately placed, as if the entire house depended on it. His was a simple approach. He rarely hired a crew, choosing instead the lonely road of a dedicated craftsman. Advertising? His calling card was an old 1951 Chevy truck with... Read Full Story

Logan's Planet

My 5 year old son, Logan, likes to draw pictures. The other day he drew me a map of the house and the neighborhood. He made sure to include the local Walgreen's because that's his favorite store. Last night he decided to draw me a picture of an asteroid field, some suns and a space ship. I thought he did an excellent job. I have no artistic skills at all. My wife is the artistic one. I think it's amazing that he is so technically capable (I think he will be an engineer) and artistic... Read Full Story
