Is there life insurance available for cigar smokers? Yes, there are several insurance carriers willing to insure people who smoke cigars. But, before you start searching for coverage, make sure you shop around and compare plans and providers before choosing your life insurance policy. Some life insurers will lump most cigar smokers into a few categories for determining your rates. However, other insurers may group cigar smokers into several different classifications based on the type of cigars, frequency you smoke, and how long you have been smoking. ... Read Full Story

We’ve all heard the saying, “It’s a man’s world.” While this may be true for some areas - professional football, construction sites, Y chromosomes - it’s certainly not true for everything; sometimes you have to look a little close to discover the girl inside the hobby. From Groucho Marx to the Rat Pack, from Milton Berle to George Burns, many famous cigar smokers are men. But, adorning the wrappers with lipstick residue, not all famous cigar smokers are male. Lighting up in a celebration of ... Read Full Story

Here, a delicious crop of premium long-leaf tobaccos are grown, which are then aged for a minimum of four years, prior to being used as both filler and binder for Perdomo Lot 23. Coated by a dark and toothy sun-grown maduro wrapper grown in Nicaragua, this exquisite cigar offers ample notes of coffee, spice, and peanuts, which complement the cigar's buttery-smooth core perfectly. Delicious from start to finish, Lot 23 Maduro is a remarkable medium-bodied premium with a rich, toasty, and complex character. Read Full Story

I thought I’d celebrate my 30th birthday in style, so I’m smoking a Don Arturo Gran AniverXario. Jerry from Stogie Review gifted me this cigar during a herf at Bethesda Tobacco a couple of months ago, and I knew I’d be saving it for my birthday. I’m smoking the Natural version, which measures in at 6 3/8″ x 48 ring gauge (there is also a sun-grown version at 6 ¼” x 46 with a different wrapper but the same filler). It features an aged Opus X rosado wrapper, and the fillers is the “AF13 blend,” which is a mix of Opus, Don Carlos, Hemingway, ... Read Full Story

Jose 'Don Pepin' Garcia. Quite possibly the hottest cigar maker on the planet, and a natural fit for the CI Legends series. This blend hails from Nicaragua, utilizing a dark Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper and a robust mixture of black long-leaf tobaccos from the fertile soils of Nicaragua. The result is a powerful cigar loaded with notes of pepper, followed by chewy hints of earth and toasted wood. Each puff is finished with a long...

It's Big Smoke time, so I'm in Las Vegas with much of the premium cigar industry, puffing away and enjoying the city. We started in style yesterday with a little Cigar Aficionado welcome party at 1 at the Mirage Hotel. Rhumbar is a great spot—stark white on the inside, very hip, with caged metallic statues of fighting roosters suspended above the bar.

Last year, we obtained some inside information about Kennedy's passion for H. Upmann cigars, courtesy of a retired executive from the old Consolidated Cigar Company. If you are...

A pair of intrepid Americans go in search of authentic Cuban cigars in Cuba. It took them awhile to find them. Revolutionary Cuba embraces an icon of the world's captains of capital. The United States outlaws that icon because it's commie-made, raising its price on the free market and increasing its value to the very state the embargo is meant to undermine. So the nations seesaw their supposedly opposing ideologies on the famed habanero...
